Subject:I was going to wait a day...
Time:6:26 pm.
But I figured my ::one post a month:: policy didn't have to be to the day. Meh.

So, this weekend was totally wrecked by report cards. I mean, I had plans for Katie's party, shooting and shopping with Sean on Monday, finishing house work and stuff in between, then breakfast with Lihua on Tuesday. Yeah - all of it was scratched. Parent/teacher conference on Tuesday (I guess?) with Trevathan. Joyous.

Meanwhile - the fact that I haven't heard from A&M/BYU/Chicago is still killing me. In that order, too. Chicago is so unrealistic, but I still want to know about it.

School drama sucks. It really does. I wish it could go away and leave... although, with a 3 1/2 day weekend, I'm hoping people will just forget everything they've dreamt up in the last few weeks. Gah. It's so annoying.

In other news - my gun broke today. So, on top of everything else, I had to cut my shooting short today and now have to figure out what's wrong with it. Great.

I'm okay, really, I am... just a bit stressed.

Subject:So long since I've felt your name on my lips...
Time:9:28 pm.
Mood: tired.
Music:CSI Reruns.
Yeah - so that was cheezy.

Meanhip - Somethings are driving me crazy right now:

1) College. The waiting and the paperwork is killing me. Can't seem to get over it... gah.

2) School. It's moderately challenging and I love the people... I just feel like I'm not living up to something and it's driving me nuts.

3) Family. Don't get me wrong, I love them all dearly... but it's time to move on. I'll miss them when I'm gone... but until then, I need to go.

4) Driving. I like driving - but I like driving with people more. It's so lonely in the morning... the afternoon... the evening. Yeah, I pump up the music... but it's not the same. One way conversations never satisfy.

5) Sickness. I've been battling a cold/thing and I'm so sick of being sick (is that possible?). I just want it to be over so I can get back to being me.

6) Writing. I feel like writing - but don't know where to start. I was flipping through my English Writer's notebook and I found a comment on my ::heart of darkness:: entry. Premise: Write anything that would fit the title "Heart of Darkness" So I wrote about a woman watching her husband die... and it wasn't too spectacular... nothing as cool as most of the fics I've written. But LaBouliere wrote "This is surprising! Really masterful!" and it kind of struck me that she's never see my :fiction: writing voice... kind of odd... but yeah. Doesn't help that I just got a new Cicada, either.

7) Now I'm stretching... was going for ten things, but seven sounds like a great place to stop.

And really - life's being great to me right now. I'm trying not to be negative - but this lack of sleep is wearing on me.

With that, I bid you adieu.

Subject:Back from the Dead (but not for long)
Time:12:53 pm.
Just dropping in to say that I don't update here anymore (as if you haven't noticed :)). I do stop by and check up on y'all every so often. I just don't feel the need to post up here any more.

Before I totally wipe clean, though, here's an update on my life:

- school's going fairly well. I'm loving my classes (both teachers and people) though they all have their rough spots.

- Irreantum just hit the printer and I should be getting my copies in a few weeks. Still no word on the newsletter. I called Laraine last night, but she wasn't home. Oh well.

- Social life is doing well. Homecoming was awesome and now I have a really cool pair of pants. You know what I just realized, I haven't worn my pink pants to school in a long while. Hrm. Will have to remedy.

- church life is great! Got some awesome activities going on (the Halloween party / chili cook off on Saturday was a blast!) and I love working with the girls.

- Family's good too. Yesterday was a bit much because I was tired and didn't want to deal with people in general... but I went to bed about 8:30 and didn't wake up this morning until 8:30... the most sleep I've gotten in ages.

I'd better run off and get my homework done. Hope everyone is having a great Election Day Holiday (yeah - our school district is weird... but gotta love these "middle of the week" holidays)

Subject:Sean's Hot Friend from Oregon
Time:9:30 am.
Mood: awake.
Music:The Radio.
So... Addison came into town last week and this is what all happened (note, when I say "Sean" I mean "Sean and Addy"... they are inseperable):

Saturday: woke up uber early, headed over to Sean's for breakfast. Had a great breakfast, thanks to Sis. McQuay. Went driving around, then to PO's for lunch, which rocked, and to Carter's for an afternoon of Skeet. Much fun.

Sunday: went to church, got sustained as Laurels' Prez, got counselors called and sustained, came home and was uber organizational, then crashed in bed.

Monday: went to DE for two hours, got called by Sean at 5 asking if I could fill in for a date that bailed, said yes, took a record time of 15 minutes to go from grunge to glamor, had dinner on an island, and passed pennies out to random people in the park.

Tuesday: got maps, etc, ready for Sean and Addy's trip to LA, went to DE, found out Sean broke up with Sam, came home to find S/A hadn't arrived yet, finally sent the dynamic duo on their way, talked to Lisa, went to bed.

Wednesday: went to DE, went driving for the first time (woot - exciting), almost woke Sean up (thank you Caitlyn for answering the phone on time!), went to bed super early because I was uber tired.

Thursday: side stepped a crisis with less grace than I should have, bugged out on the first hour of DE due to said side stepping, managed to ace a test I hadn't even been instructed on, got home in 7 minutes, freshened up, managed to keep the house from blowing away in the rainstorm, went to the mall with "the crowd" and had a blast, came home, had dinner, averted crisis # 2 for today (it's not totally solved, per se, but it's definitely out of my hands and therefore NO LONGER MY RESPONSIBILITY! Ahem... I'm okay, really), and crashed into bed.

Friday: woke up uber early to go garden at the Temple (totally rocked), introduced organization to the YW organization, came home to clean the house (woot - money!)

Saturday: not a thing and I intend to keep it that way.

And now, I've come full circle. I think dad was right when he said I've used up my quota of dates for the year all in one week. Sheesh - having a social life is crazy... be glad you don't.

Subject:Hold The Phone!
Time:3:58 pm.
Mood:significantly less happy.
Music:The sound of the business world, hard at work..
I'm kind of disgusted with the YMCA right now. Here's the run down:

1) I applied for a job at the beginning of the summer and when I applied for a counselor position, nobody thought to tell me that you have to be at least 18 with a high school diploma. So, between lack of communication and a camp director that was not quite up to par (he was fired after three weeks) I didn't find myself employed.

2) So, I threw myself into this pre-cal class (which I got a 97 out of - whoohoo!). After that was over, it was the first of July and I heard that there was some massive re-org-ing going on at the YMCA. I figured it wouldn't hurt to call over there and see if there were any openings for the pre/post position (which I found out is the only thing I could work because of my age).

3) I called Lorie and left her a message before the July 4th holiday. I didn't expect to get any word from her until after the holiday, which I didn't. At a week after the holiday ended, I called her again. I actually got her on the phone, we talked and said that she'd love to have another pre/post worker and would call me right back with the particulars.

4) A few days and a weekend went by with nothing from her. But, Amy called me yesterday and said Lorie had said that I could have the job, I just have to get on payroll and get some paper work done. So, I showed up at the Y this morning at 6:30 to see how everything works and catch Lorie for the details, again. She was a no show.

5) Amy gave me Lorie's work cell number, which I called once this morning with no luck. I just called it again now and she told me that they were winding down at camp and she would rather give the hours to the counselors than hire someone for just the end of the summer. If I wanted to continue this into the school year, she'd consider it. She also got the weird idea that I'd told her I'd already been working for the Y somewhere along the lines... *rolls eyes*

So - in short, I'm kind of perturbed. Not only has my search for a SUMMER job been totally short circuted, but my opinion of the YMCA has been drastically altered for the negative. Yes, it's a good place for my sister to spend her summer and it was great while I was going there... but as for getting a job there - obscene! The lack of communication is astounding, and to get a response out of anyone down there takes an act of Congress and a few blood sacrifices. Sheesh!

/rant But yeah, I'm thinking about just not bothering anymore. I really didn't want this to interfere with school - I have to be focused this year and really make the most of what high schooling I have left. I mean, I want some work experience outside my house - but if it means prematurely promising my afternoons and weekends for the whole of my Senior year, I'm not at all in favor of it.

Any suggestions?

Subject:Whoo!
Time:4:29 pm.
Mood: energetic.
Music:CMT - what else... ?.
So, crazy upturn of events -

1) put three hundred plus rounds through my shotgun this weekend, between going out with David, my lesson with Tom Fiore at GHGC, and my regular sunday shoot... quite a lot! But I loved it!

1.5) Sorry - just squeezing this in here: Lindsey's party rocked the house! Not a lot of people showed up, but we had a great time. Amber and I had a lovely time driving around ;) and Linds loved her new lamp! Some day I'll sit the three of y'all down and explain the "light" thing. ;)

2) Between Sister McQuay and I, we found Samantha's number (Sean's current girlfriend). I called her and we ended up spending an hour and a half on the phone. She's pretty cool and I approve now. ;) I invited her to the breakfast thing Saturday.

3) Speaking of which, too many people are out of town - but it's okay. Daniel and Kishele are coming, along with Sam and I... it'll be small but loads of fun. Sis. McQuay is going to make pancakes, too! Whoot!

4) This morning, on my way out the door, Amy called and told me I got the job over at the YMCA (working Pre/Post at Mirror Lake). All I have to do is call Laurie (find a time when she's in her office) and get myself on the pay roll. How exciting!

Hrm... that's pretty much it for positive things... One negative - The Department of Public Safety is the most inept excuse for an organized institution I have ever seen. You would not believe how anal that place is! Sheesh! But yeah - already ranted about that once this week to my dad... so, not gonna revisit that.

Other than that - I'm doing great. Riding my bike every morning has been uber healthy for me; taught me a lot about traffic and the craziness that exudes on the roadway. I think it will help my driving immensely - that is if I live to see the day I drive. Sheesh!

Alright - gotta get going. Charmed comes on again at five and I've got to clean up a few things before then.

Today has been uber good - got up (hrm... partially because I wanted to and partially because I had to pee... hrm.) around 8:15 and had cottage cheese for breakfast. That was fulfilling, lemme tell ya. Dad got up this morning and loaded some yard equipment into the back of the truck and headed over to a friends' house to help with their yard. Long story, won't go into it. I just knew it was the right thing to do and I was proud my dad recognized that, too. I feel very honored to call him my dad. Took a shower and went up to Drivers' Ed. Yes, I've started taking that class... every Monday through Thursday from now until July 29th from 9 to 12 in the morning. I'll be riding my bike up and back (a total of 4.4 miles) which will mean to things: 1) great exercise 2) great tan! :) It's going to be fun and I'm looking foward to it.

Came home and had burgers on kaiser buns (yum!) with some weird egg-roll things. Definitely not buying those again! Ah well... tonight we're having uygur sandwhiches with jiouxi (aka - chinese food) tonight for dinner. YUM! And now... hrm... the house is asleep and I'm typing away on my keyboard.

I had some online housekeeping to do (namely making my MSN group -- http://groups.msn.com/volersfriends -- restricted access. If you'd like to join (to see the pictures, mainly) go for it.) and e-mailing some people... but mom's awake so I have to go clean my room. No - I need to clean my room. It's an absolute mess.

CRAP! I still have to find Lindsey a present! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!

It's almost dark and I'll be heading out with some friends to do a BUNCH of fireworks. Woot! But, before I do I had to let y'all know how much I appreciate your care and concern for me over the last couple years.

With that in mind... I had a change of heart today... I went out this morning and shot skeet with dad like usual... but for some reason it was more relaxing than usual. It was wonderful. We stopped at Arby's for lunch and while I was sitting there waiting for my food, I felt ready. Like I had broken out of this nasty rut that I've been stuck in for a year or so. I felt new and refreshed... back to my pro-active self - happy, cheerful, and ready to take on the world. I came to the conclusion that I was ready for this school year, with the recognition that I still have plenty to do before then and will attack the rest of my summer duties/obligations/opportunities with gusto. I know that life will still have its ups and its downs, but I'm ready and with God and y'all by my side, I can accomplish anything to the best of my ability.

Thanks again and happy 4th of July!

So....................................................

It's been a while. Youth Conference rocked my socks - we had such a good time (Sparta rules!) and every body was so great. Loved it! Doesn't beat out "Warriors" but it was still uber good. The theme was "Old Testament Olympics" - so all the activities were based off the OT and we were competing as OT cities/countries in the Olympics. Really cool! This was also the first time the SHCR has managed to do anything together in a long time - whooot! Daniel in the Lion's Den, and Job were by far the best activities. Excellent food! Got some great pictures and as soon as I finish the roll and my compy starts cooperating, I'll update GC and YC. ;)

Thursday night I did cut out to go see Fleetwood Mac - wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Great concert! It was such a blast - bought a spiffy shirt and an uber cool program. Much happiness abounding!

Father's day was a bunch of crap. Don't want to talk about it.

Sunday night, however, I got an interesting call. Sean wanted to take me out to breakfast on Monday then to the mall for some necessary pre-vacation clothes shopping. ;) We hit up Willobrook - specifically American Eagle and Old Navy. We walked into Express Men, saw the purple shirts and flower prints and RAN out! Crazy kid! We had a great time and decided that we rock the house as shopping partners. ;) He also managed to deliver my CDs (which are, collectively, 28 hours worth of music! Whoot!)

And now - I'm about to go pop them in my machine and finish my "clean the room" project that has grown into a monstrocity. Have fun! Ciao!

That was me falling asleep on the keyboard. Sorry in advance if this has a bunch of spelling or grammar mistakes. Reason: youth conference during the day and the Fleetwood Mac concert all through the night. Whoot! It totally rocked by I am totally wasted - I think I managed to second-hand-smoke cheap cigaretts, equally cheap cigars, and some mary jane. Woozy doozy. But yeah - the concert itself rocked my socks! More details later... now I must forage for food. Yum. And then cheryl's about to pick me up for more YC. Yay.
